7.9 RICHTER SCALE OF SUMATRA’S EARTHQUAKE 30 SEPTEMBER 2009
As of Tuesday, 27 October 2009 there were :
1,195 died.
2,902 injured.
hundreds still trapped under building.
hundreds not found.
more than 269,000 fatal damage of building/house/infrastructure.
On 30 September at 17:16, a 7.9 RS earthquake (depth of 71km) struck off the coast of West Sumatra in Pariaman, Indonesia; a second 6.2 RS earthquake struck at17:38.Telecommunications are damaged disrupting communication networks and phone lines. There have been some eyewitness reports about damaged bridges, fires and panic among residents; water pipes are also reportedly damaged flooding some of the streets. The earthquake was felt in North Sumatra and Singapore , several hundred kilometers away.

Government said “number of victims would be increase because of rescue team couldn’t reach some location still isolated by erosion neither the rescue equipment “. Some country such as Japan, United Emirates Arab, Australia etc have been giving aid to Indonesia.
Nowadays, people need to be evacuated and they also need foods, tents, blankets, waters , sanitation and medical supplies obviously.

Riki Alkamdni & Team already distributed part of the donation as foods and daily necessity and gave them to the victims directly. This delivery team consists of :

Riki's best friend, an internship doctor who works in DR. M. Djamil Hospital in Padang, 2nd son of Prof.DR.H. Edison Munaf (Head of Education and Culture Indonesian Embassy in Japan).

He works in Health Department of Republic Indonesia in Mentawai Islands. Brother of dini mansyur (PPI member).
4. DIAN PRATAMA PUTRA
He is chief of Hippocrates Emergency Team (HET) Medical Faculty of Andalas University, a student organization under Medical Student’s Council of Medical Faculty of Andalas University surveillance.

Thanks God, I’m in a good condition but the tragedy still left lots of sad memory in our mind, heart and soul. This shocking earthquake had separated a mother and their kids, sister and brother, friends and their partner. The disaster is so tragic, scattered buildings, a lot of damaged roads that cannot be used, and hundreds of souls still buried by the landslide.
We feel very proud of our friends in Japan especially Indonesian Student’s Association Sapporo/Hokkaido Branch who tried to collect the donation for West Sumatera earthquake victims. I feel happy and responsible to conduct this donation, sincerely promise to do the job with full responsibility.
